Glodon's Senior Vice President Liu Qian and his companions on a visit to School of Management Science and Real Estate

On the afternoon of September 16, 2021, Liu Qian, Secretary of the CPC Committee, Director and Senior Vice President of Glodon Software Co., Ltd., Xie Gang, General Manager of Chongqing Branch of Glodon, and their companions arrived at the School of Management Science and Real Estate for a visit. Prof. Liu Guiwen, Dean of the School, and Prof. Xiang Pengcheng, Vice Dean of the School, met with the delegation and the two sides exchanged ideas on cooperation in intelligent construction, university-enterprise cooperation and nurturing of innovative talents.

In the 1992 Construction Management Lecture Hall of the School, Liu Qian delivered an academic speech titled Digital Innovation Driving Industry Ppgrading, and Intelligent Construction Leading Talent Development. Prof. Liu Guiwen, Dean of the School, chaired the meeting, and expressed welcome and thanks to Liu Qian and his companions. According to Liu Qian, we are now going through rounds and rounds of digitalization. As the general trend of digital transformation in the industry, digital economy has brought all industries into a new era of digital economy. The reform of the construction industry should involve deconstruction and reconstruction of the traditional construction industry mode by means of "three-complete and three-shift", and create three-new digital buildings of "new design, new construction and new operation and maintenance". Liu also laid particular emphasis on the urgency and importance of the current training of new industrial talents, and the need to change the traditional teaching mode through construction of digital teaching system. Glodon, led by "digital building", will continue to play a positive role in transformation and upgrading of building industry, and make every construction project a success and allow everyone in the building industry to achieve something with science and technology.

During the visit, Liu Qian had face-to-face discussion with teachers of the intelligent construction discipline of the School. The two sides had discussion over further cooperation in intelligent construction, university-enterprise cooperation, industrial reform and cultivation of innovative talents. Moreover, Liu Qian showed up at the innovative class of the intelligent construction discipline of 2019 of the School, had discussion with undergraduate students, and expressed his expectations for the future career development of the students.

It is reported that, in order to drive all-round development in design management system, digital supply and procurement, BIM architecture, and smart construction site, Glodon Software Co., Ltd. has independently developed the core technologies to expedite digitalized development of the industry. Besides, Glodon has been exploring innovative ways to cultivate digital building talents, with the demand for new talents in the industry as the starting point, and put forward the development vision of the secondary entrepreneurship ideal in which water supply, power supply and access to digital building platforms are available for each construction project.

In response to the need of national strategy and future project construction, and in order to fulfill the mission of CQU to build a "well-equipped and influential university" and nurture "industrial elites and pillars of the nation", the School of Management Science and Real Estate established a new undergraduate discipline, intelligent construction, in 2021. In the future, the School will draw on its solid foundation in disciplines including architecture and civil engineering and construction management, take in modern information technologies including big data, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things, give full plat to its interdisciplinary advantages in control engineering, and will work with Glodon Software Co., Ltd. to introduce diversified cultivation modes, in an effort to provide more high-quality inter-disciplinary talents and promote digitalization reform of the industry through university-enterprise-research cooperation in tackling tough scientific and technological problems in scientific research.

During the visit, Liu Qian shared the latest progress in the frontier of the industry and academic ideas with students and teachers of the School of Management Science and Real Estate, and sparked enthusiastic response among them. During the sharing session, students got to know something about the frontier of digitalization of the building industry and had their knowledge expanded, which was of great guiding value for their academic research and career development. Teachers of the School will continue to integrate the digital teaching ideas with traditional teaching mode, and carry out construction of the intelligent construction discipline under the interdisciplinary system, so as to realize the goal to cultivate high-quality talents urgently needed in the digital economy era.
